Unicoi State Park is one of the most popular parks in Georgia because of its outstanding natural beauty, its wide range of amenities, and its proximity to Helen. See the park's website for a schedule of activities: www.gastateparks.org/info/unicoi
Boats (canoes and pedal boats) can be rented, seasonally, at the beach area. Non-motorized private boats are also permitted on the lake.
There are 5 trails in the park. They vary from a short interpretive trail (1/3 mile) around a pond to a 5-mile strenuously-rated trail to Anna Ruby Falls. You can also travel from Unicoi State Park to Helen via a 3-mile moderate to strenuous trail.
Programs are ongoing all year on the topics of nature, culture, history, and recreation. Special programs can be offered for group visits by prior arrangement with park staff. Visit the park's website to find out what programs are being offered during your visit.
Numerous picnic tables, grills, and shelters are scattered throughout Unicoi State Park. Single sites are available on a first come, first served basis. There are also group picnic facilities and the beachhouse that can be reserved, for a fee, for larger functions.
