Unicoi State Park

Boating

Boats (canoes and pedal boats) can be rented, seasonally, at the beach area. Non-motorized private boats are also permitted on the lake.

Fishing

The lake is stocked with catfish, bass, and brim. Fishing is allowed from the bank and from 6 fishing docks, with standard Georgia fishing requirements enforced.

Hiking

There are 5 trails in the park. They vary from a short interpretive trail (1/3 mile) around a pond to a 5-mile strenuously-rated trail to Anna Ruby Falls. You can also travel from Unicoi State Park to Helen via a 3-mile moderate to strenuous trail.

Park Programs

Picnics and Group Events

Numerous picnic tables, grills, and shelters are scattered throughout Unicoi State Park. Single sites are available on a first come, first served basis. There are also group picnic facilities and the beachhouse that can be reserved, for a fee, for larger functions.

Swimming

There is a sand beach that is is open for swimming during the summer. This is a great and scenic spot for swimming.
